Overview

​

Our client is a fast growing specialist in book publishing and production of animated television content for children. The creative team has worked with a range of well-established and respected clients, including some of the UK’s biggest names. The company works with a range of international suppliers and agents, therefore the candidate must be able to travel internationally for long periods of time to various locations and manage the offices in China for 12-16 weeks a year.

 

We are seeking an experienced and multi-functional candidate for an International Production and Supply Chain Manager role. This is a senior role and the applicant would be working closely with the Managing Directors; the position involves managing production and supply processes effectively to meet pressured deadlines with large time constraints. An excellent level of spoken/written English and Mandarin are required for the role.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Estimating costs, setting budgets and agreeing timescales with Account Managers while following the internal PO system.

  • Sourcing new suppliers and ensure all information/data is accurate (this includes uploading information onto the designated portal).

  • Adhering to health and safety procedures, follow company policies and conduct risk assessments during procurement process.

  • Planning, organising and keeping on track with the production/supply schedule.

  • Project management and rescheduling/adjusting critical dates in response to changes.

  • Negotiating and dealing directly with suppliers and co-ordinating airfreight/sea-freight shipment.

  • Working with the on-site warehouse to ensure imported products are up to EU/UK standards and adhering to (EU and exports local) quality control standards.

  • Monitoring team performance to meet strict deadlines.

  • Training and refresher training for team members.

  • Liaising with all internal departments including sales, accounts, design and marketing.

  • Selecting and purchasing production-related materials/equipment.

  • Arrange repair and maintenance of production equipment when necessary.

  • IT and numerical literate with a strong insight into quality control standards.

  • Calm and professional under all circumstances with ability to negotiate confidently and assertively.

  • A good team player with a flexible approach.

  • A proven track record of successful project management involving overseas connections.
